Ollie's Ultra
Ollie's Ultra is an endurance running event held at Santa Fe Park in Chanute Kansas on a USATF certified course. The event is staged on a soft chat trail at the site of the old Safari Golf Course and uses a certified 2.022 mile loop where only full loops count for official distance.
Event formats include:
- 48 hour event
- 36 hour event
- 24 hour event
- 12 hour event
- 6 hour event
- 3 hour event
The 48 hour, 24 hour, 12 hour and 6 hour performances are eligible for state records. Official electronic timing is provided. In the event of a tie the time when the last full loop was completed is used as the tie breaker. Full loops completed after strict cutoffs are not counted.
A fully manned aid station is located at the base camp just past the start and finish area and will offer snacks, hot foods, water and Tailwind. Runners are strongly encouraged to carry personal fluids and nutrition. There is space for tents and nearby RV campsites.
Registration includes a tshirt and a finishers award; hoodies are available for purchase. Custom awards are presented to the top three in each division. Deferrals are valid for one year.
Course rules require runners to carry their own nutrition, prohibit strollers dogs and bicycles, enforce counter clockwise running, forbid course cutting and require headlamps or lights for events that continue after dark. Pacers are permitted after 12 hours with one pacer on course per entrant at a time; pacer bibs cost 5 USD. Volunteer shifts earn race credit toward future entry.
