Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival
Old Fort, United States • 6 Dec 2025
Event overview
The Old Fort Strong Endurance Festival is a trail running and mountain bike event held on December 6, 2025 at Camp Grier in Old Fort, North Carolina. The festival format offers timed endurance options for both runners and riders: 3, 6, and 12 hour events. The weekend includes vendors, live music, and guest speakers.
Course and format
Runners use a loop of approximately 3.75 miles composed of singletrack and gravel road. Each running lap includes about 550 ft of climb and 550 ft of descent. Mountain bikers use a separate loop of approximately 8.3 miles with about 1,000 ft of gain and loss per lap. Both courses start and end near Camp Grier Lake and share a common start/finish area with a tent village for crew support. One aid station is located near the start/finish and tent village; basic race food and some meal-time items will be available.
Fundraising and entries
The event supports the Old Fort Strong Fund to assist residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Helene. Over 50 homes were reported damaged or destroyed. The event field is limited to 450 spots (225 runners and 225 riders). All participants are set up as fundraisers and have a minimum fundraising goal. Prize packages are available for higher fundraising tiers.
Logistics and facilities
Camp Grier offers lodging, cabins, and primitive camping. Additional on-site camping and small RV parking options are listed. Parking is in upper fields and carpooling is recommended. Crews are limited to a defined crew zone and one 10x10 tent per crew. Spectators and shuttle services are part of the weekend festival plans.
