Event

The Northern Trails Trail Race takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Northern Guilford High School, 7101 Spencer Dixon Rd., Greensboro, NC 27455. The event is held on trails in the northern Greensboro trail system and follows routes that run along Lake Brandt and Lake Townsend. Past editions have seen varied spring weather, including snow flurries, rain, and sunshine. Participants may run, ruck, or hike the course.

In addition to the main distances, the event includes ruck divisions for each distance, economy registration packages for each distance, and virtual race options including virtual 17 mile, virtual 10 mile, and virtual 5 mile events.

Regular and economy registration options are available, plus virtual entries. Registration details listed by the organizer indicate that entries include a custom race shirt, a Northern Trails finisher medal, chip timing with live results, post-race food and a beer, and race photos. The race is part of the North Carolina Trail Mega Medal Series, a four-race series whose finisher medals connect to form a larger Mega Medal.
