Event details

The Northern Trails Trail Race takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The race starts and finishes at Northern Guilford High School, 7101 Spencer Dixon Rd., Greensboro, NC 27455. The event uses trails that run along Lake Brandt and Lake Townsend. Past events have seen snow flurries, rain, and sunshine.

Distances offered:

• 17 Mile
• 10 Mile
• 5 Mile

Runners, ruckers, and hikers may choose any of the above distances. The event is part of the North Carolina Trail Mega Medal Series; finisher medals from the series connect to form a larger medal.

Registration, inclusions and policies

Registration options include regular, economy, and virtual entries. Regular and economy registrations include a custom race shirt, a finishers medal, chip timing with course splits, live tracking via the RaceJoy app, aid stations, post-race food and beverages, and race photos. Virtual entries are included in a virtual leaderboard, receive a shirt and medal, and may pick up a packet locally or have it mailed for $10 (additional international shipping charges apply).

Refund and transfer rules: no refunds within 30 days of the event; earlier requests may receive a 50% refund of the entry fee excluding processing fees. Entries can be transferred to another person for a $5 transfer fee; entries cannot be deferred to another event or year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
