North Bay Road Race
The North Bay Road Race is an athletic event held in Northern Ontario, organized by runners for the running community. The races feature out-and-back courses that showcase the scenic waterfront of Lake Nipissing and utilize local multi-use pathways.
The routes begin on Memorial Drive, which is closed to vehicle traffic, and transition onto the paved Kate Pace Way. The 5 km course includes a water and electrolyte aid station and follows the waterfront toward a turnaround point. Runners participating in the 10 km and half marathon follow the same flat, paved path. The half marathon distance extends further, covering sections of Booth Road and Birchs Road, as well as the path toward Callander.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 1 Mile (Kid’s race)
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21.1 km (half marathon)
The event serves as a fundraiser for local youth. A portion of every registration fee is donated to the YMCA North Bay "Fill the Bus" campaign, which helps provide camp experiences for children in the community. Parking for the event is available at Memorial and Oak Street locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
