Music City Trail Ultra
The Music City Trail Ultra is an off-road race held on March 6, 2027, at the HardWin family farm in Pegram, Tennessee. The event offers multiple distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- 12K
- 12K HardRuck (rucking with a weighted pack)
The course crosses the HardWin farm and the Cheatham Wildlife Management Area, which includes upland hardwood forest, steep trails, and ridge line views. Terrain includes technical singletrack, rugged jeep roads, gravel, creek crossings, and leaf-covered rocks and roots. Organizers note extensive briars on parts of the route.
Trail percentages vary by distance: the 50K is about half trail and half road, the 25K is roughly 65 percent trail, and the 12K is about 75 percent trail. Around mile two the route features a steep climb commonly referred to as FTS Hill.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 5 to 6 miles and supply water, Gatorade, and snacks. Time cutoffs are enforced at intermediate points and at the finish; listed cutoffs include a 10-mile station, a 20-mile station, and a 9-hour overall limit for the 50K. The 12K HardRuck requires a weighed pack with specified weight rules and a pre-event weigh-in.
Awards are given to the top three men and women in each distance; every finisher receives an award and finishers are offered a finisher cup, pizza, and beer at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
