Mountain View Trail Half Marathon : Buffalo Run Adventures

The Mountain View Trail Half Marathon is a trail race on Antelope Island organized by Buffalo Run Adventures. The event is scheduled tentatively for Saturday, November 1, 2025. The race is a Half Marathon (13.1 miles) run as an out-and-back on the Mountain View Trail, departing from the Antelope Island marina. Registration reopens July 21, 2025; entry fees are not finalized and may increase on October 1. Race day registration may be available if the race is not full. The event is hand timed and runners must have their bib visible at the finish. There is typically no official time limit.

Course, logistics and rules

The course starts at the marina and follows the Mountain View Trail south to a marked turnaround. There are two aid stations on course, each passed twice, providing water, a sports drink and possibly gels; the race is cupless, so runners are advised to carry a bottle and personal nutrition. Check in takes place at the large parking lot near the park entry station; the race bib serves as the island entry pass. Drop bags can be moved to the finish; drop bags on course are not provided. Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash no longer than six feet; off-leash dogs risk disqualification and park fines. Finish-line food includes Buffalo Chili, a vegetarian option, soda and cookies. Awards include a coffee mug for every finisher and prize money for the top three in each gender. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
