Scarecrow Walk

Scarecrow Walk is a fall event at the USU Botanical Center in Kaysville held across nine days from September 26 to October 4, 2026. The display places scarecrows along scenic paths in the Varga Arboretum and demonstration gardens. The event is free to the public and is open during the center's dawn to dusk hours.

Visitors can vote for their favorite scarecrow using numbered displays and QR codes; a prize is awarded to the most popular entry. The site layout includes a mix of dirt and paved paths and the walk route is approximately three quarters of a mile; the paths are described as stroller and wheelchair friendly. Leashed pets are welcome, and visitors are asked to remove waste.

Concurrent activities include an off-road 5K run hosted by the Farmington Rotary Club that travels through multiple gardens and around the pond. The run features awards for top finishers and a costume contest for scarecrow-themed attire. The weekend program surrounding the display includes food trucks, live music, and a kids area.

Community participation options include building scarecrows; builder fees and deadlines apply. Local sponsors named for the event include Discover Davis, USU Credit Union Goldenwest Credit Union, and the Farmington Rotary Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
