About the race
The Mountain Peacock 50k on November 15, 2026 is a self-supported trail ultra in Golden, Colorado. The event covers about 50K across up to four repeating loops that visit South Table Mountain, North Table Mountain, Mount Galbraith, and Lookout Mountain. Each loop starts and ends at Parfet Park, which serves as the event hub and the sole aid station.
The course has minimal markings and participants are expected to navigate. Organizers use a book-at-summit system for proof of summit visits; runners remove a page at each summit. The event follows a low-cost no-fee format and is run in a DIY style. There is no official race timing or formal cut-off time.
Participants are expected to carry required supplies and basic gear. Suggested items listed by the organizers include about a gallon of personal water, a shareable snack for the park aid station, navigation tools such as map or GPS, and appropriate trail running equipment. Leave No Trace principles apply and runners should be prepared for changing mountain weather and their own limits.
