Monumental Challenge

The Monumental Challenge is a 5+ mile trail race organized by Spey Runners, taking place on October 27, 2024, as part of the Fochabers Triple Challenge. The race starts and finishes at the Monster Trails, featuring a scenic route that includes a climb to the monument atop Whiteash Hill. A 100 mile ultra starting and finishing in Forres, the Moray Way 100 follows the Moray Coastal Trail, Speyside Way and Dava Way through beaches, forests and clifftop paths. Entries are limited and the race has a 30 hour cutoff.

Teams of up to four share the full Moray Way route of about 100 miles, split into 12 legs with checkpoint handovers. Runners must be over 16, each must run at least three legs, and some sections may include night running.

A multi-terrain running festival on 09 August 2026 with a half marathon, 10k, 5k and junior 1k following the River Deveron and finishing at Duff House Rugby Club. Medals for all finishers and prize categories by age.

Two race options along the Speyside Way on 15 August 2026: a 50 km from Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie and a 100 km from Aviemore joining the 50 km route, with route GPX files and a handbook provided beforehand.
