Event overview

Mission Tejas is scheduled for November 15, 2025 at Mission Tejas State Park in Grapeland, Texas. The event returns after a two-year hiatus while the park completed infrastructure upgrades. Race entries include the following distances:

  • 50k
  • 25k
  • 10k
  • 5k
  • Kids K

The event traditionally offers free tent camping on Friday and Saturday and a group camping add-on option during registration. Volunteers receive a complimentary wristband and camping.

Course, aid and logistics

The course uses two alternating 5k loops that meet at the start/finish at the Mission. The "A" loop is described as gentler pine single and double track. The "B" loop includes a more technical stone-steps climb. Loops must be run in order; for example, the 5k is the A loop, the 10k runs A then B, the 25k follows AB-AB-A, and the 50k follows AB repeated five times.

There will be one fully stocked aid station at the start/finish with fluids, electrolytes, snacks, sandwiches, limited medical supplies, and evening cooking items for multi-loop participants. Drop bags may be placed on a ground tarp at the start/finish, and runners are encouraged to set up personal gear in that area. Pacers are not allowed and crew support is limited to the start/finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
