Meall a'Bhuachaille Hill Race takes place on 25 October 2025 at Badaguish Outdoor Centre, near Aviemore (NH 967114). The race distance is 13 km with 720 m of climb. Entries open 1 August 2025 and close 19 October 2025. The entry fee is £10. Minimum age to enter is 18. The event is licenced by Scottish Athletics and race insurance cover is provided by Scottish Hill Runners. Entries listed so far show 56 participants.

Registration is held in the main hall at Badaguish. Car parking is available at Badaguish with a £5 parking charge per car collected on arrival; car sharing and low-impact travel are encouraged. Toilet facilities are available; showers are not permitted and the Badaguish cafe will not be open. Limited refreshments will be available at the finish. Maps are available for purchase at registration for £1 each.

Course and requirements

The route starts at Badaguish and follows a forest track then a hill path to the summit of Meall a Bhuachaille (810 m). Runners descend to the bealach then contour to a knoll on the south ridge of Creagan Gorm and ascend to Creagan Gorm (732 m), continue the ridge to Craiggowrie (687 m) and descend through heather into the forest back to Badaguish. The route is primarily unmarked except for some path junctions, the first part of the final descent and the forest section. Hill marshals will be at designated checkpoints and navigation skills may be required in poor visibility.
