The Maroondah Dam Trail Run takes place in the Maroondah Reservoir Park, located within the Yarra Ranges National Park. Situated approximately 3 km east of Healesville off the Maroondah Highway, the venue features a landscape of native and exotic trees, walking tracks, and gardens. The event is held in April during the autumn season.

This event serves as the first race in the Trailsplus Mountain Series. Participants have the option to enter this specific race individually or register for the entire five-race series for a discount. The course options include a variety of distances to accommodate different preferences:

  • 10 km
  • 21 km
  • 30 km
  • 42 km
  • 50 km

The park facilities include a playground, lawns, and picnic areas with BBQ facilities for supporters and spectators. For all participants, reviewing the official event guide is required. Check-in and race briefings are compulsory for all distances, and runners collect their timing bibs during the check-in period.

Registration is available online in advance, with tiered pricing based on the date of entry. While on-day registration is permitted, it incurs an additional administration fee. As part of the event's social commitment, a portion of each registration fee is donated to charitable organizations, including Canteen and initiatives supporting disadvantaged Indigenous students.
