Event Details

Margisons Miles is an annual charity run organized by the Ashington Hirst Running Club. The event is a 6-hour timed event where participants can run or walk as much or as little as they want, at any pace. All funds raised after expenses go to the club's charity fund, with donations to the Friends of the Woods and support for the Wansbeck Valley Food Bank. A food collection point for the food bank will be available at the event.

Course & Logistics

The run takes place on a flat trail course in Community Woods, Ashington. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs. There is a participant limit of 100. Sweets and water are provided for all finishers on each lap. Participants must bring their own cup. Race numbers are collected on the day from the start area. Free parking and toilets are available nearby.

Facilities & Restrictions

Available facilities include a water station and a baggage store. There are no distance markers, toilets, changing facilities, or showers on the course. The minimum age for participants is 17. There are maximum distance limits for younger participants: under 18 years old is limited to 25 km, and under 20 years old is limited to 45 km.
