Overview
The Magna Carta Winter races take place at Runnymede in Surrey, with race headquarters at the Wraysbury Skiff & Punting Club on the riverside. All events use sections of the Thames Path trail near the historic Magna Carta site. The courses are out-and-back, lapped routes along the river and are described as flat and fast. Turnaround points are located at Staines Bridge (by the Runnymede Hotel) and Old Windsor Lock.

Route details and race support
The marathon comprises five 5.27-mile sections to Old Windsor Lock and back. The half uses two short out-and-back loops toward Staines Bridge plus two 5.27-mile out-and-back sections. The 10km combines one short out-and-back loop toward Staines Bridge with one 5.27-mile out-and-back section. Turnaround points are fully marked and marshalled. Well stocked checkpoints are provided at the start/finish area and at Old Windsor Lock. Chip-timed results are issued directly after each runner finishes. The event provides bespoke Magna Carta medals and slate awards for the first three male and female finishers in each race. Photographs are available for sale within 24 hours. Professional medical first aid support is provided throughout the race.
