Magna Carta Summer

Magna Carta Summer is a lapped running event based at the Wraysbury Skiff & Punting Club in Riverside, Egham, Surrey. The course runs along the Thames Path in the Runnymede area, close to the site where the Magna Carta treaty was agreed and signed on 15th June 1215.

The event offers three distances:

  • 10 km
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon

Routes use marked out and back sections with marshals at key turnaround points, including Staines Bridge and Old Windsor Lock. The course is described as fully runnable along established river paths and takes in views of the Queen Elizabeth statue, the JFK Memorial, the Magna Carta landmark and Old Windsor.

All finishers receive a bespoke Magna Carta medal. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places for men and women. Route maps and GPX files are available for each distance, and the race headquarters handles race registration and race day arrangements.
