Magna Carta Summer

Egham, United Kingdom • 9 May 2026

Event Overview

The Magna Carta Summer event features three running distances: a 10 km, a half marathon (approximately 13.2 miles), and a marathon (26.2 miles). The event takes place near Runnymede, a location associated with the historic signing of the Magna Carta treaty in 1215.

Course and Location

All races start on the River Thames next to the Wraysbury Skiff & Punting Club in Egham, Surrey. The course uses the Thames Path trail, comprising out-and-back laps. Runners on all distances will pass a 2.5-mile loop near Staines Bridge before proceeding to longer loops turning at the Old Windsor Lock checkpoint. The entirely runnable route passes points of interest including views of the Queen Elizabeth statue, JFK Memorial, and the Magna Carta landmark. The course is marked and has marshals at key turnaround points.

All finishers receive a bespoke Magna Carta medal. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race. The event is open to participants aged 17 and over (18 for the marathon). Registration prices range from £33-£35 for the 10 km, £43-£45 for the half marathon, and £53-£55 for the marathon.
