The MAD Backyard Ultra is a backyard ultra event held at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge, Tennessee on January 16, 2027. The race uses a repeated trail loop of 4.167 miles that runs on exterior track, gravel, and grass. The course is described as flat, runnable, and non-technical.

This event is the sixth annual running and is a qualifying race for The Big Dog's Backyard Ultra. Runners complete the loop each hour and must finish within the hour to continue to the next loop. Crew access is permitted at the start/finish area and tents and canopies are allowed near the start line. The event provides a three minute, two minute, and one minute warning before each loop start. Volunteers and workers supply aid at the start/finish line, while runners must carry or manage their own aid while on the course. No pacers or artificial aids, including trekking poles, are allowed. Runners off the course may only leave to use restrooms and must return before the next loop start.

Packet pickup takes place at 323 Camp Jordan Parkway on the day before and the day of the race. Camping and RV camping are allowed, with RV spots requiring advance notice to the race director. Hotels are available within about a mile of the start. Awards include a unique prize for the last runner standing, participation coins for all finishers, and a belt buckle for runners who reach 100 miles.
