Mackays Group BEACHRUNS takes place in Mission Beach, Tropical North Queensland on Sunday 19 July 2026. The event is staged along palm-lined beaches with hard sand and ocean views toward Dunk Island.
Distances offered:
- 21km half-marathon
- 10km
- 5km
- 1km children’s dash
- 12km team relay (4 x 3km)
The half-marathon runs along the full length of greater Mission Beach, including South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach and Mission Beach, all on sand with island views. The team-relay covers a 3 km loop repeated four times; teams may include two to four runners and compete in male, female and mixed categories. Coral Coast Financial Services sponsors the team-relay.
The children’s 1 km dash is open to 5 to 12 year-olds and may be entered on the day with parental supervision. Minimum ages apply for other distances. Team registration requires a captain to register and distribute a code for team members to use.
Prizes include overall first to third male and female placings for each distance, winning relay teams with perpetual trophies, and various random prizes. Age-group results are recorded but there are no age-group prizes. Online registration is required and registrations close on Friday 17 July 2026.
