Machete Trail Madness 100k

Machete Trail Madness is a trail ultramarathon at Lake Perris in Perris, California (17801 Lake Perris Dr). The event offers multiple distances:

  • 100k: 20-mile loop around the entire lake, repeated three times.
  • 50k: 10-mile loop with 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap, repeated three times.
  • 10k

The 100k course lists 4,400 feet of elevation gain per lap. The event uses a lap format with a central transition area at the start and finish where runners can set up and reload supplies each lap. Aid infrastructure includes full aid stations and self-serve water stations placed at specified mile points on each loop.

Cut-off times are posted as 15 hours for the 50k and 30 hours for the 100k. For the 100k, runners may pick up one pacer after completing two loops to accompany the final lap into the homebase.

Camping is available as a group tent campground; campers must arrive after Friday 12:00 PM and check out by Monday 11:00 AM. The campground does not allow trailers or hookups. Organizers state a register-by date of 03/24/2026 to ensure a medal or buckle and participant shirt; official registration closes on April 10 at 11:59 PM PT.

The course includes technical trail sections and significant climbs, and the lap format increases runner interaction and opportunities to reload nutrition each lap. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
