The 50 mile and 18 mile races share a common route for the 18-mile portion. The longer courses navigate two exposed bluff lines with wide views; on a clear day runners can see five states from one section. The 50 mile course crosses or follows at least five creeks and routes through Lula Lake Land Trust, passing rhododendron, mixed hardwood and Hemlock forests and the 120-foot Lula Falls.

Aid stations provide food options such as hot soup, and the event includes evening camp fires noted by the organizer. The 10K begins with a flat, fast section on Covenant College cross country trails for the first couple of miles, then narrows to creekside single track with a couple of steep climbs.

Race proceeds benefit Wild Trails, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on the use, protection and expansion of nature trails in the greater Chattanooga area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
