Lismore Samson Fitness Challenge

The Lismore Samson Fitness Challenge is a multi-disciplinary sports event held at Hepburn Park Lismore. The primary goal of the event is to raise funds for the Our Kids charity, which purchases paediatric equipment for the Lismore Base Hospital and other medical facilities in the Northern Rivers region.

The main competition is a four-person team event where participants complete nine different stages. These activities include a 130 kg truck tyre flip, a prowler push, a farmers walk with jerry cans, and a burpee challenge. Further stages include a 2x2 km run, a 1 km swim, a sled plug, and an obstacle course. The team with the fastest overall time is awarded the Samson Title.

Participants can choose from several event categories held over two days:

  • Samson Solo (Friday night)
  • Team Samson (Saturday)
  • Team Samson Teen and Junior (Saturday)
  • Samson Kids (Saturday)

The event focuses on promoting fitness and exercise within the community. Proceeds from previous years have contributed to the purchase of medical equipment such as a ventilator for the Special Care Nursery. Registration is open to the public, with different categories available to accommodate adults, teens, and children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
