Lap the Lake - Melvern

Lap the Lake is a grassroots gravel and pavement event held at Melvern Lake Marina in Melvern, Kansas on October 10, 2026. Routes use a mix of surfaces and terrain, including gravel sections, pavement, prairie trail, rolling hills, and shoreline views. Some courses pass through an old railroad tunnel.

The event offers multiple bike, run, walk, and rucking options with different lengths and terrain. The program includes community-focused aspects and local partnerships, with proceeds described as giving back to the community. A T-shirt option is available as a separate registration item.

  • Old Abe 5K run walk, pavement and shoreline trail
  • Half run walk, gravel and prairie trail with tunnel
  • Rucking Challenge 4 to 9 miles, 10 pound minimum vest required
