Lake Vyrnwy 10k
The Lake Vyrnwy 10k is a trail and multi-terrain running event held on private land at the Lake Vyrnwy estate in Llanwddyn. The course is approximately 10 km (approx) and uses a mix of fast footpaths, grassed sections, stony tracks and tarmac. The route includes climbs with scenic views and faster downhill sections. The exact route is not published because it lies on private estate land.
Race headquarters, start and finish are on the estate and are a short walk from the parking area, which allows competitors to leave valuables in their cars. Full instructions and postcodes are sent to entrants before the event. Parking is available near the start and finish and is charged at £3 per car payable in cash on arrival. Music and an event help desk are provided at the start/finish area.
The event provides drinking water at locations on the course, with planned stations at about 4.0 km and 6.7 km and additional water at the start/finish area; runners are encouraged to carry a suitable bottle. Finishers receive a medal. Minimum age for the 10 km event is 16 years. Prizes are awarded to the top three female and top three male finishers.
