Lake Murray Endurance Run

The Lake Murray Endurance Run takes place annually in late October at Lake Murray State Park near Ardmore, Oklahoma. The event offers trail races in multiple distances:

  • 5 Miles
  • 25K
  • 50K
  • 100K
  • 100 Miles

Lake Murray State Park covers about 12,500 acres of forested rolling hills and provides over 30 miles of marked trail. Trail terrain varies from flat and simple sections to moderately difficult stretches with rocks and roots.

The event is supported with aid stations along the course. This is a cupless race, so participants must carry their own hydration device. Aid stations provide water, Gatorade, and a range of foods such as bananas, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, cookies, soda, and electrolyte replacement. Aid stations are spaced roughly 4.7 to 6.7 miles apart; the 5 mile event does not have an aid station.

Drop bags are permitted for the 100 Mile and 100K events at the Start/Finish and at the Buzzards Roost aid station; runners are asked to keep those bags a manageable size. Time limits apply: runners have 32 hours for the 100 Mile race and 27 hours for the 100K. Pacers are allowed in the 100 Mile and 100K races at specified mile points and at designated exchange locations. Unregistered pacers are not permitted in other distances.

Race headquarters and the start and finish are at Tipps Point Campground. Lake Murray State Park offers lodge accommodations, cabins, RV sites, and primitive tent camping; the event also provides an area for car and tent camping for a fee. Race shirts are provided to registered participants, with size guarantees for registrations made at least 14 days before the event. Refund and transfer policies include race credit rules and an administration fee for bib transfers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
