Lake Murray State Park covers about 12,500 acres and has more than 30 miles of trails. Trail terrain ranges from simple, flatter sections to moderately difficult segments with rocks and roots. The event is organized with aid stations along the longer courses; water and Gatorade are provided, plus food items such as fruit, sandwiches, chips, cookies and electrolyte products. Aid stations are spaced about 4.7 to 6.7 miles apart. The 5-mile event does not have an aid station. This is a cupless race, so participants must carry their own hydration device.
Time limits are set for the ultra distances: 32 hours for the 100-mile and 27 hours for the 100K, with additional intermediate cutoffs at specified mile points. Pacers are permitted for the 100-mile and 100K under the event’s rules, with exchanges allowed only at designated aid stations.
On-site lodging and camping options include a full-service lodge, cabins, RV sites and primitive camping at the state park. A separate car and tent camping area for runners is managed by the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
