Lake Murray State Park covers roughly 12,500 acres of forested rolling hills and more than 30 miles of trail. Trail terrain ranges from simple flat sections to moderately difficult stretches with rocks and roots. All races start and finish at Tipps Point Campground. Mobile coverage is generally good but may drop in some areas; runners should not rely solely on GPS.

The event is cupless; runners are expected to carry a personal hydration device. Water, Gatorade, and a selection of foods are provided at aid stations located between about 4.7 and 6.7 miles apart. The 5-mile race does not have an aid station. Drop bags are allowed for the 100-mile and 100K at the Start/Finish and at the Buzzards Roost aid station.

Time limits are specified for the longer distances, including a 32 hour limit for the 100-mile and a 27 hour limit for the 100K with intermediate cutoffs. Pacers are permitted for the 100-mile and 100K at specified points. Finisher buckles or medals are awarded by distance. Lodging options include a lodge, cabins, RV sites, and primitive camping; an area for car and tent camping is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
