LA Turkey Trail

The LA Turkey Trail takes place on Thanksgiving morning in the Santa Monica Mountains. Starting from the Top of Reseda Trailhead, the courses utilize a combination of fire roads and singletrack trails. Participants run through chaparral landscapes and past the Nike Missile Tower, with views extending across the San Fernando Valley, the Pacific Ocean, and the San Gabriel Mountains.

The event offers several distances:

  • Half Marathon: A 13.67-mile course with 2,323 feet of elevation gain, including a singletrack descent down Westridge.
  • 10k: A 6.7-mile route with 857 feet of gain that follows Dirt Mulholland to the Nike Tower.
  • 5k Fun Run and Hike: A 2.76-mile out-and-back course with 448 feet of elevation gain.

This race serves as the final event in the SoCalTrail Trail Half Series. The Half Marathon includes a professional Elite Trail Half League and an Open Trail Half League. The event is cupless, requiring participants to bring their own hydration systems.

Post-race amenities include a vegan-friendly taco breakfast, a beer garden for participants aged 21 and over, and sports massage treatments. All runners receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and digital race photography. The event also hosts a canned food drive to support the West Valley Food Bank, with collection bins located at the registration area.
