La Garita 200

La Garita 200 is a 200 mile mountain race held in the La Garita mountains near South Fork, Colorado. The course is a large loop that begins and ends in the same location, with a short out-and-back section used to connect the loop. The start and finish are located in South Fork on the banks of the Rio Grande river.

The route rises to just under 13,000 feet and passes through several distinct mountain environments. Participants travel through pine forest, alpine tundra and large mountain parks.
