The Kokoda Challenge - Brisbane takes place on 13 June 2026 in D'Aguilar National Park, starting and finishing at Brookfield Recreation Reserve (48 Boscombe Road, Brookfield, QLD). Teams of 2-5 people take part; a school team option is five people (4 students and 1 teacher). Distances offered are:
- 18 km
- 30 km
- 48 km
Parking will be available near the start/finish area. There will be vendors, music and a finisher dog tag at the finish.
Course, entry and fundraising
Courses run on fire trails and bush tracks through Brookfield and are described as steep and hilly. Checkpoint and support details by distance:
- 18 km: 1 checkpoint, no support crew, minimum age 9 years, 9 hours to complete.
- 30 km: 3 checkpoints, no support crew, minimum age 10 years, 12 hours to complete.
- 48 km: 6 checkpoints, 1 support crew allowed, minimum age 13 years, 20 hours to complete.
Each team must meet a minimum fundraising target before event day. Registration fees and minimum fundraising requirements vary by distance and team size (examples):
- 18 km: 2-person fee $180, min fundraising $190; 4-person fee $250, min fundraising $365; school team fee $275, min fundraising $265.
- 30 km: 2-person fee $200, min fundraising $315; 4-person fee $340, min fundraising $630; school team fee $315, min fundraising $375.
- 48 km: 3-person fee $315, min fundraising $785; 4-person fee $420, min fundraising $1050; school team fee $375, min fundraising $525.
