Kilburn Kanter
The 37th Kilburn Kanter takes place on Saturday 7th November 2026. It is a 24 mile Challenge Walk in the Hambleton Hills with approximately 3,500 ft of ascent. The event has a total time allowance of 10 hours.
The route starts at Kilburn Village Hall and passes Scotch Corner, Cold Kirby, Tylas Farm, Hawnby, High Paradise, Boltby, Gormire Lake and the White Horse before returning to Kilburn. Entrants must follow the route and visit all checkpoints within the allowed time. Anyone retiring must do so at a checkpoint; a vehicle will return retired participants to event headquarters. LDWA marshals may retire participants who do not comply with event rules or who are judged unfit to continue. Dogs are not permitted on the event.
Entry is by online registration only from 22nd June; there are no entries on the day. Entry fees are LDWA £13 and Non LDWA £20. The fee includes tea and toast at the start, refreshments en route, an event badge and a certificate. Refunds are subject to a £2 administration fee; there is no refund from 1st October 2026 and no roll over.
Required kit includes a map, compass, waterproofs, fleece, whistle, torch, first aid kit and a mug. Participants are asked to take all rubbish home for disposal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
