About the race
The 37th Kilburn Kanter is a long distance challenge walk organised by LDWA North Yorkshire and based at Kilburn Village Institute in North Yorkshire. The route covers 24 mile with approximately 3,500 ft of ascent through the Hambleton Hills. A time limit of 10 hours applies.
The route starts and finishes at Kilburn Village Institute and passes Cold Kirby Village Hall, Tylas Farm Barn, Hawnby Village Hall, Boltby Village Hall and Sutton Bank car park. The event is limited to 200 entries and there are no entries on the day. Entry fees listed are £13.00 for LDWA members and £20.00 for non members; the fee includes a certificate or badge and refreshments on the route. Participants are asked to bring a mug and no dogs are allowed on the event.
Entries open 22 June 2026 and close 15 October 2026. Entries recorded so far are shown as 132 participants. SiEntries refunds are subject to a £2.00 handling fee and there is no refund of entry from 1 October. Participants are asked to take their rubbish home for disposal.
