Kaslo Wild Ultra is a multi-day trail running event based at Kaslo Bay Park, which is used for start, finish, and packet pick-up. The event offers multiple distances and multi-day challenge options across local single-track and gravel trails.
Distances and options
- 10 km Lake Stage: single track and gravel, about 1.5 km on road, 150 m elevation.
- 53 km Mountain Stage: rugged mountain single track, 2400 m elevation.
- 22 km River Stage: single-track riverside trails, 528 m elevation.
- Full Wild 85 km: all three stages over three days.
- Half Wild 32 km: Lake and River stages over two days.
Course details and aid The Mountain Stage includes rocky, rooty, and potentially muddy terrain. It features four aid stations and two water stations with drop-bag support. The River Stage has two aid stations. Runners must check in at every aid or water station or risk disqualification.
Gear and logistics For the 53 km, mandatory items include a hydration pack or bottles, a rain jacket or emergency blanket, and a phone. The event is cupless. Headlamps and bear spray are recommended. Drop bags are available for the Mountain Stage and should be packed in weather-resistant bags.
