Jolly Jumbuck
Brigadoon, Australia • 31 May 2026
Event Overview
Jolly Jumbuck is a trail running event taking place on May 31, 2026, as part of the Perth Trail Series Winter Series. The event features three different course distances, each identified by a colour: Black, Blue, and Green. The course is set around Jumbuck Hill and includes a bridge and sections of shared-use trail.
Distances
The event offers three trail running distances:
- Black Course
- Blue Course
- Green Course
Logistics
The event is held at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon, Western Australia. Parking is available on-site, with crew directing participants. Participants are asked to consider carpooling. The venue and course are only accessible on event day; for training, runners can access the trails from Bells Rapids Car Park.
All participants must bring their own hydration system capable of holding a minimum of 500ml, which must be presented at check-in to receive a race bib. Hiking poles are not permitted on the course. Dogs are allowed in the start/finish area but must be supervised by someone else while the participant is running.
The event uses a colour-coded check-in and bib collection system. Participants must go to the tent matching their course colour. Bibs must be worn visibly on the front at all times. Headphone use is discouraged for safety and to be aware of other trail users.
On the Course
The course is marked with blue flagging tape and arrows. Participants must follow these markings on event day, as the course may differ from pre-published maps. Trail etiquette is emphasized, including yielding to horses on shared trails in the first and last 2km and being polite to other park users on the bridge. A "drop down" option is available, allowing participants to switch to a shorter course mid-run if needed.
Post-race presentations and awards are held after most participants for each course have finished. Food, drinks, and coffee are available for purchase at the finish area, and a merchandise tent sells event gear. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
