Tejas Dirt Festival is a multi-discipline trail event taking place on May 9, 2026 at Camp Eagle, 6424 Hackberry Road, Rocksprings, TX 78880. The weekend includes trail running, rucking, a trail run biathlon, and the King & Queen of the Hill event. The Youth Trail Run is an untimed roughly 1 mile course and awards a finisher medal. The event is part of the Youth Trail Series and registrants 19 and under receive an automatic 15–20% discount for races of 10 miles and shorter.
Race formats and logistics
Race offerings include:
- 4 Mile
- 10 Mile
- 20 Mile
- 40 Mile
- Youth 1 Mile Ruck distances: 4 Mile and 20 Mile.
The biathlon alternates running laps and shooting .22 rifles at still targets; firearms and certified gun safety staff are provided. The King & Queen of the Hill is a short out-and-back trail run of about 1.5–2 miles. Pacers are not allowed. Timing uses ankle chips; results show gun time for official awards and chip time for individual splits. If a participant does not finish, they are recorded as DNF and may receive a finisher medal but are not eligible for awards.
Course, aid and facilities
Courses are hilly with rocky sections and riverside trails. Aid stations are provided approximately every 3–6 miles and the pavilion serves as the main aid hub with fluids, Tailwind, Saltstick, fruit, and snacks. The event is cupless; participants should bring a cup or bottle. Drop bag service is not provided but participants may leave personal drop bags near the pavilion. Camp Eagle lodging options include hostel beds, dorms, yurts, screened shelters, tent and RV camping. Camp Eagle charges a land access fee of $10 for everyone over age 3.
