Event Overview
The InHouse Ultra is an endurance race following a Last Person Standing format. This event takes place entirely indoors on Woodway treadmills. Participants are required to cover 5 miles within a 60-minute window during each round of the competition.
The race is held in a controlled environment maintained at a temperature of 72 degrees with low humidity and light airflow. The event in St. Petersburg is limited to 14 athletes, who compete simultaneously against participants at a sister studio in Salt Lake City. Spectators are permitted, and music is played throughout the duration of the race.
Rules and Procedures
Athletes must adhere to specific regulations to remain in the competition:
- Each participant is assigned a specific treadmill for the duration of the event.
- Treadmills must be set to a 0% incline.
- Participants must be on their treadmills by the 59th minute of each hour to start the next round.
- Runners must remain on the treadmill until it comes to a complete stop before stepping off for breaks or nutrition.
- Athletes are not permitted to use their personal aid stations until the full 5 miles of a round are completed.
Technical Specifications
The race employs the "3-2-1 Rule," with announcements provided three, two, and one minute before the start of every hour. To avoid disqualification, runners must not hold onto the handlebars while running or step onto the treadmill sides while the belt is in motion.
