Icebox 480/240 - Whitetail Ridge, River Falls, WI
The Icebox 480/240 is a time-based trail running event held on November 7, 2026 at Whitetail Ridge in River Falls, Wisconsin. Participants choose a timed challenge and complete repeated laps of a roughly five mile single-track loop to accumulate distance over the event period.
Available options include:
- 4 hour challenge (240 minutes)
- 8 hour challenge (480 minutes)
Runners take repeated five mile loops on the single-track course. In the final hour a one mile bonus loop opens for an additional scoring opportunity. The event uses a staggered start window to reduce congestion on the single-track course.
Support at the course includes a cupless aid station where participants may fill personal water containers, a selection of typical snack items, and later in the day more substantial fare such as chicken noodle soup, quesadillas, and mashed potatoes. Drop bags may be kept at the start area. Portable toilets are available at the start point.
Pacers are not allowed. Crews may provide aid only at aid stations or the drop bag area. Parking is permitted only on nearby streets; business parking lots are prohibited. There is no immediate camping at the site; Willow River State Park is about 14 miles away and hotel options exist in nearby towns.
Organizers state a commitment to inclusion and reserve the right to delay, suspend, or cancel the event for safety reasons. No refunds or transfers are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
