Icebox 480/240

Icebox is a time-based trail running event held at Whitetail Ridge in River Falls, WI. Runners choose between timed challenges and complete repeated laps on a five mile single-track loop. In the final hour a one mile bonus loop opens for additional distance.

Past editions have produced distances into the 50+ mile range and have welcomed runners who surpassed the marathon distance for the first time. The event format emphasizes individual pacing and distance covered rather than placement or split times.

Participants may keep drop bags at the start area. The event is cupless; runners should bring a personal water container to refill at aid stations. A staffed aid station provides snacks and, later in the day, heartier options such as chicken noodle soup, quesadillas, and mashed potatoes. Portable toilets are available at the start area.

Parking is permitted on nearby streets only; business parking lots are not allowed. Pacers are not permitted. Crews may assist runners but may only provide aid at aid stations or drop bag areas.

Organizers reserve the right to delay, suspend, or cancel all or part of the event for safety reasons. If changes occur, participants will be notified by email, website, or social media. No refunds or transfers are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
