The Hyner View Trail Challenge is a trail running event in Hyner, Pennsylvania (Eagles Nest / 9650 Renovo Road) offering two distances:

  • 25K
  • 50K

The event includes single-track trails, stream crossings, and scenic vistas. The 25K covers about 4,000 feet of vertical gain with three major climbs and three major descents. The 50K includes about 6,500 feet of vertical gain with five major climbs and course changes introduced in 2019. The 50K is part of the Rocksylvania Trail Series.

Race operations, limits and rules

Field sizes are limited: the 25K is open to the first 1,000 runners and the 50K to the first 400 runners. The organizer enforces a strict registration policy: no refunds, no deferrals, no bib switches, no transfers, and no bandits. The event uses hard cut-offs on course: the 25K requires arrival at the View (mile 4) and at mile 8.5 by specified cut-off times or runners will be pulled to ensure a 9-hour finish; the 50K has hard cut-offs at mile 7.5 (direction onto the 25K if missed), mile 17, and mile 25 to ensure a 10-hour finish. Bib pickup is scheduled the day before and on race day with separate windows for each distance. The course is remote with limited spectator parking; designated spectator access points are Hyner View State Park and Hyner Run State Park at specified miles.
