Hooves To Freedom Trail Race (8k) - Overview
The event takes place on January 24, 2026, in Blackshear, GA at Moccasin Creek Off-Road Park, 7055 Wilton Rd. The race offers the following distance options:

The entry fee listed for each event is $35. Fees include a long sleeve Sports Tech T-shirt; registration must be completed by 1/11 to guarantee a shirt. A multi-family discount is available.
Course, services and awards
The course is a trail route with sections of mud, roots, and sand, and much of the route runs across open grassy fields. A drone video of the course is available. Chip timing and finish-line photos are provided by Bailey Race Management. The race will use a gun start, so all participants start at the same time.
Proceeds benefit Hooves To Freedom, a local nonprofit that provides equine and animal-assisted activities for people ages 8 to 108, with programs focused on mental, cognitive, and behavioral support, plus activities for at-risk youth and victims of trauma, abuse, and grief.
Awards are given to overall male and female, masters (40+), and the top three male and female runners in each age group. The age groups are 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Overall male and female winners receive a free pair of shoes; local hand-crafted wood-burned awards are also presented. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
