Winter X - Meon Valley, Hampshire

Winter X is a mid-winter trail-running event held in the Meon Valley. The listed date for this edition is 28 December 2025; entries for 2025 are closed and a provisional date for 2026 is 28 December 2026. The event is capped at 300 participants across all routes and is run under UKA rules.

Distances offered:

  • 10 km - North leg on the old railway line to West Meon and back.
  • 30 km - North and East legs, including a section of the South Downs Way.
  • 50 km - North, East, and West legs, with West leg via Beacon Hill.
  • 70 km - Full course of four out-and-back legs, including the South leg to Wickham.

Run HQ is at Meonstoke Village Hall (Meon Hall) and all distances start and finish there. Routes use well-trodden public trails with some short road links. The organisers provide marked courses, marshals, GPX files (updated up to a week before the event) and multiple checkpoint locations; GPX tracks may deviate from the final route.

Entry inclusions and facilities noted by the organisers include an event T-shirt, event timing, marked course and marshal support, fully stocked checkpoints, post-event food and drink, and a memento (a small rock). Checkpoints offer cold/hot drinks, food and toilets at many locations. Showers and post-event food are available at Meonstoke Village Hall. Age limits and restrictions apply and dogs are not permitted on the route.
