The HOWUM 2026 is a 30-mile ultra in mid-Wales, starting and finishing in Llanidloes. The route forms the Heartlands of Wales circular, merging four trails—the Sarn, Glyndwr’s Way, Severn Way and Wye Valley Walk—toward the source of the River Severn and back, with no time limits. Runners pass landmarks such as the Clywedog Reservoir, then traverse the Welsh countryside in a supportive, safe environment. The event features three checkpoints with snacks, drinks, seating, power banks and music; a Pegasus kit list; and a stay-cool, family-like crew. 2025 saw a record turnout, a 100% finish rate, and more female finishers than males.
