Heartbreak Hill 5K

The Heartbreak Hill 5K is a 3.1 mile run and walk held on the Hagerstown Junior Senior High School cross country course in Hagerstown, Indiana. The event takes place at the school located at 701 Baker Road and uses the campus cross country layout for the course.

This race is one of eight events in the Wayne County Challenge series. Each race in the series raises money for a chosen charity. All proceeds from this event go to the Hagerstown High School Athletic Department’s cross country program and the Hagerstown Athletic Hall of Fame.

Entry fees are $25 per person for those who pre register by July 31, 2026, and $30 per participant on the day of the race. All entrants are classified by age. An awards ceremony and refreshments follow the race at the registration area or in the school cafeteria in case of rain. Participants receive a t shirt with race entry while supplies last; there is no guarantee on t shirts without pre registration.
