Hamburg Hustle

Hamburg Hustle is the first annual trail race held at Hamburg State Park in Warthen, GA on September 12, 2026. The event features a 5K course that begins in front of the park's historic grist mill and museum and follows the nature trail. The route runs along lakeside sections of the red and white trails, passes an aid station at the halfway point, and returns toward the park office on trails lined with muscadine.

This is a pure trail route with no road or paved sections; participants should watch for tree roots, rocks, and wildlife. Walkers are welcome and are asked to allow runners to start in front for safety. Race-day refreshments such as coffee, snacks, and fruit will be available at the starting area, and additional water and snacks will be provided at the midway aid station.

Registration closes September 1, 2026. Registrants who register before that date are guaranteed a commemorative shirt. The registration fee listed for the event is USD 23.50. All registration proceeds go to the volunteer group Friends of Hamburg State Park. For parking, each vehicle must display a valid Georgia State Park pass; passes will be available for purchase at the event parking area for those without an annual pass.
