The Gumby 10K and 5K - Granite Beach

The Gumby 10K and 5K takes place Saturday, January 23, 2027, at Granite Beach in Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The event uses a trail course along the lake shore that is well marked and supported by volunteers.

Distances

  • Gumby 10K: 6.2 miles
  • Gumby 5K: 3.1 miles

Aid stations are located on the course at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, and 5. Each station serves cold water, FLUID Electrolyte beverage, and CLIF Shot energy gels and Bloks. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners are asked to exercise caution when crossing roads and to pay attention on trails.

Packet pickup is available race morning from 6:30 to 8:00 am at the race site. Gumby trail run shirts are available for pre-order at $20. Gumby finisher medals are noted as returning to the event.

Awards include Overall Champion Awards for first place male and female in the 10K, three-deep awards by ten-year age groups for the 10K, and first overall plus three-deep ten-year age group awards for the 5K. The 5K separates competitors under 19 into 14 and under and 15-19. Custom race plaques are awarded three deep in each age group and division.

Entry fees vary by registration date; typical ranges listed are $45 to $60 for the 5K and $45 to $65 for the 10K. The organizer maintains a no refund policy; refunds requested before race week are issued as a race credit minus a $25 processing fee.
