The Gumby 10k and 5k

Event overview

The Gumby 10K and 5K trail runs take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The races use a trail course along the shores of Folsom Lake and are on a well-marked route with volunteers supporting the course.

Distances

• Gumby 10K: 6.2 miles
• Gumby 5K: 3.1 miles

Course and support

Aid stations are located at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, and 5. Each aid station serves cold water, FLUID Electrolyte beverage, and CLIF Shot energy gels and Bloks. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners are required to exercise caution when crossing roads and to pay attention on trails. Finisher medals will be awarded in 2026.

Registration, fees and logistics

Race shirts are available for purchase prior to the race for $20 and must be pre-ordered to be available on race day. Entry fees vary by registration timing; listed amounts include 5K from $40 to $55 and 10K from $45 to $60. Spring race package options and other combined-event packages are listed with higher fees. Packet pickup is held on race morning at the race site. TBF Racing has a no-refund policy; refunds before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between TBF events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee. All events are held rain or shine.

Awards

Overall male and female champions are recognized in each race. Awards are given three-deep in ten-year age groups; the 5K splits athletes under 19 into 14 and under and 15-19.
