The event starts at Lake Anza in Tilden Regional Park and offers multiple trail distances through the Berkeley hills. Distances include:

Parking at the venue is free. Drop bags are allowed for the 30K, Marathon, and 50K at the Start/Finish. T-shirts are provided to pre-registered participants; all finishers receive a custom medal and 50K finishers also receive a custom coaster. There is a 9-hour time limit for all events.

Course, aid, and rules

Courses are measured with a Rolatape surveyor's wheel and marked with ribbon approximately every 200 yards. Color coding: 10K = yellow loop, Half = pink loop, 30K = Half + yellow, Marathon = Half twice, 50K = Marathon + yellow. Polka-dot flagging indicates turns; blue ribbons mark wrong ways.

Aid stations are fully stocked every 3-4 miles with fresh fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. Runners are advised to carry extra fluids; events are cupless so participants should bring their own fluid container. Headphones are permitted on dirt-road sections only.
