About the race
Gran Trail Peñalara is an ultra trail event held in the Sierra de Guadarrama, within the Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama. The 16th edition takes place from 9 to 11 October 2026 and is organised by the Real Sociedad Española de Alpinismo Peñalara. Races start in towns around the park, including Navacerrada and Miraflores de la Sierra, Madrid.
The event program includes several races with published distance and positive elevation gain:
- GTP 104 km, +5.100 m
- GTP Relevos 104 km (relay), +5.100 m
- TP 60K 61 km, +2.700 m
- CNN 11K 11 km, +400 m
Interactive maps for the GTP and TP60 are available with elevation profiles, aid station points and complete course traces. The CNN race has 450 available bibs for 2026. The event lists public and private supporters and a principal sponsor identified as Kailas FUGA. The organising body has run the Gran Trail Peñalara since 2010 and presents the race as an ultra trail series across the mountain trails of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
