Event Overview

The Goblin Valley Trail Runs is a two-day event in Green River, Utah, on November 7-8, 2026. It features a variety of trail running distances and gravel cycling rides. The course runs through a landscape featuring unique geological formations known as hoodoos, or "goblins," on single-track trails in a protected area.

Course Details

Each distance follows a different route. The Marathon offers a 360-degree view of the hoodoos, while the Half Marathon loops around the park. The 10k is a lollipop-shaped course using the Lizard Foot and Buffalo Head trails. The 5k is an out-and-back route.

Event Features

The event is cupless, meaning participants must bring their own hydration vessel. It is part of the "Desert Festival" weekend, combining running on Saturday and cycling on Sunday. Day-of registration is available, but shirts and medals are not guaranteed. The event offers chip timing and age group awards. Strollers and pets are not allowed on the course.

Runner Perks

Finishers of the 50K, Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K/5K events receive a custom shirt and finisher medal. Registered runners receive a free training plan. A kids' fun run offers a custom shirt, bib, and medal for participants. A post-race area with beverages, food, and games is available.
