Goatfell Race, Brodick

Goatfell Race is scheduled for 16 May 2026 at the Ormidale Pavilion in Brodick on the Isle of Arran. The event route is 15.5 km long with 870 m of ascent and starts and finishes at the Ormidale Pavilion.

The course follows the main road north to Brodick Castle drive, then climbs to the summit of Goat Fell via the standard "tourist" path and returns the same way to the finish.

Entries open 1 April 2026 and close 13 May 2026. The online entry limit is 200 and the entry fee is £16. On the day entries will be considered at the organisers discretion only if spaces remain. Competitors must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race.

First aid cover is provided at start and finish and hill support is provided by Arran Mountain Rescue. Mandatory kit requirements include a full body waterproof cover, hat, gloves and whistle. Carrying a mechanical compass and map and the ability to navigate may be imposed in poor weather. Public liability cover is provided by Scottish Hill Runners. The organiser may shorten or cancel the course in exceptionally poor weather.

Changing facilities, toilets and baggage storage are available at the Ormidale Pavilion. Prizes are awarded across male and female age categories and for team and local finishers. Light refreshments will be served after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Five mile trail on the Isle of Arran with about 600 feet of ascent, running from Whiting Bay past Glen Ashdale Falls and through Forestry roads and the Fairy Glen. Scottish Athletics licensed event, age limit 16 and over.

A Category AL hill race on the Isle of Arran covering 20 km with 1670 m of ascent. The mostly unmarked route requires navigation skills, checkpoints and mandatory kit, and includes awards for overall, veteran and team categories.
