The Glanageenty Marathon takes place in County Kerry on Saturday 13th December 2025. The course distance is 42.20 km with 1300 m of climb. The organiser lists the event difficulty as 9 (3,3,3) - Difficult Terrain, more than 500 m ascent, and more than 10 km. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are allowed.

Entry, kit and volunteering

Entry closes on Friday 12th December 2025 at 18:00. The entry fee is €40. No entry limit is set and 18 entries have been sold so far.

Mandatory kit is Level C - Advanced and includes: a waterproof jacket with integrated hood and taped seams; hat or buff; gloves; whistle; charged mobile phone with emergency number stored; foil blanket or bivvy bag; waterproof full leg cover; means to carry a minimum of 500 mL water; emergency food; map of route/area; and compass. The exact kit to be carried may be finalised on the day depending on conditions and will be advised at registration. Failure to carry required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification; random kit checks may be carried out.

The event records volunteer roles, including non-running and running positions. Two non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year are required to qualify for the organiser's end-of-year prize.
