Gil's Galavant Backyard Ultra

Gil's Galavant BYU is an outback Queensland backyard ultra held on a 3,000-acre cattle property near Wallumbilla, offering an outback camping experience. Runners complete 6.71-kilometer loops, starting on the hour and continuing until unable. A cattle bell signals each loop’s start, with whistle warnings at 3, 2, and 1 minute.

Eliminations happen for not finishing a loop within the hour, not being in the starting corral at the whistle, or voluntarily dropping out mid-loop. The race continues until two remain, with the last finisher declared the winner; if no one can complete another loop, there is no winner. No bibs or tracking are used.
