Gede Pangrango Ultra Marathon (GPUM)
Gede Pangrango Ultra Marathon is a mountain ultra trail event scheduled for 5 June 2027 that starts from Gede Pangrango National Park, Cibodas. The event offers multiple timed mountain trail races with large cumulative elevation gain and defined checkpoint systems.
The race categories and core distances are:
- GPU 60K 60 km, 5610 m elevation gain
- GPT 47K 47 km, 4350 m elevation gain
- GPF 27K 27 km, 2290 m elevation gain
Each category has a specific time limit: GPU 20 hours, GPT 15 hours, and GPF 9 hours. Routes for the longer classes include named mountain and park locations such as Selabintana, Surya Kencana Edelweiss Park, Mount Gede Summit, Kandang Badak, Mount Pangrango Summit, Mandalawangi Edelweiss Park, Cibodas Botanical Garden, and Mount Putri in various sequences depending on the class.
Entry requires participants to be at least 18 years old on race day, with parental or guardian permission for those aged 18 or 19. Mountain qualification points are required from ITRA or UTMB results within the period 01/01/2021 to 30/04/2027: GPU requires 3 points, GPT requires 2 points, and GPF requires 1 point. Normal enrollment fees are listed per category and include registration, race kits (BIB and vest), personal insurance, route services and checkpoints, and a conservation donation.
