Fort Yargo Thrill In The Hills - Fort Yargo State Park, Winder, GA

Fort Yargo Thrill In The Hills is a trail running event held at Fort Yargo State Park on February 14, 2026. The event offers multiple distance options on a course that leaves the park roads and moves into wooded single and double-track trails near suburban Atlanta.

The terrain includes rolling hills, roots and some technical sections. The 50K course is structured as two 13.1 mile laps plus an additional 5 mile loop. The half marathon (21K) is one lap of the course. The 5 mile route uses a short road section before joining single track near the Nature Center Pavilion. Start and finish activities are based at the Nature Center Pavilion.

Aid stations are placed on the course at several mile markers, including locations near a road crossing, the cabins and campground host, a primitive camping area, and the Nature Center Pavilion. Awards and age group medals are planned for top finishers in overall and age categories. Registration includes event-specific items such as timing chips and a tri blend race shirt; 50K and 21K registrations also list a custom finisher mug and stocked aid stations.
