The Thrill In The Hills trail running event takes place at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, Georgia on February 14, 2026. The event is organized as off-road trail runs on a well-groomed system of single- and double-track trails that run through woods in suburban Atlanta. The main start and finish area, and packet pickup, are at the Nature Center pavilion/parking lot. The presenting sponsor is Chateau Elan.
Courses and services
Distances offered:
- 5 Miles - road start then joins single-track trail.
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon) - one lap on the marked trail.
- 50K - two 13.1-mile laps plus a 5-mile loop; offered as solo or as two- or three-person relays.
Courses include rolling hills, roots and some technical sections. Relay teams must have each member complete at least one leg; the relay exchange zone is near the Nature Center pavilion. Aid stations are placed on the course at about 1.5 miles, 5.05 miles, 9.65 miles and at the 13.1-mile split. Race timing uses chip timing.
Awards and entry items
Medals are awarded to top three overall male and female finishers and to top three finishers in age groups. Race registration for each distance includes timing and event items such as a tri-blend shirt and a custom finisher mug for 21K and 50K participants, and stocked aid stations for longer distances.
