The Formosa Spiked Apple 5k takes place on March 15, 2026 at Formosa Winery in Kissimmee, FL. The event offers two distance options:
- 5 km
- 1.5 miles (one lap)
Registration shows a base price of $30 and a youth price of $25 for ages 1-20. The event is open to ages 1 to 98. A virtual participation option is available; packets can be shipped for a shipping and handling charge.
Course and logistics
The start and finish are at Formosa Winery. Most of the course runs on paths with some cross-country sections on grass. The course is a two-lap layout; participants who complete one lap may be placed in the 1.5 mile division. Dogs are allowed if friendly and on a leash shorter than 6 feet. Strollers are permitted but not recommended because of uneven ground; children in strollers may participate free and do not need to register. Packet pickup is race day only.
Timing, awards and included items
The race is timed and scored by J3 Timing and results are posted online. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each category: 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 & over. Registration includes a cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a bottle opener, a chip-timed race bib, a homemade cider donut, and a pour of cider.
