The Florida Death Race is a point-to-point trail event in north Florida that runs largely on the Florida National Scenic Trail. The race starts at Full Circle Dairy farm in Lee, FL and finishes at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs, FL. Much of the route follows the Suwannee River and runs on singletrack trail.
Distances
- 74 miles - ~2,500 ft elevation gain; point-to-point; 21 hour cutoff.
- 37 miles - ~1,500 ft elevation gain; point-to-point; 12 hour cutoff.
Course details and rules
The 37 mile distance covers the final section of the full 74 mile course. Both courses are primarily on the Florida Trail and include technical, winding singletrack. All runners must carry a 1 lb unengraved railroad spike for the entire race; finishers remove their spike by placing it in a wooden coffin. 74 mile finishers receive an engraved spike, while 37 mile finishers receive a medal. Runners who do not finish keep the original spike.

Top 100 finishers of the 74 mile race receive early registration access for the Georgia Death Race. Course maps, aid station breakdowns, and a runner handbook are provided by the organizers. Entry fees are tiered: 74 miler priced at $150 / $175 / $195 across listed registration periods; 37 miler priced at $110 / $135 / $145 across listed registration periods.
