Course, cutoffs and the 50/50 Challenge
The course is single-track trail through wooded, undulating terrain. Trails are described as non-technical with short hills that usually take less than a few minutes to climb. The 50K uses two 13.2-mile loops plus one 5.2-mile loop. The half consists of one loop. Aid stations are on course and are described as accessible by family and friends.
Cutoffs listed are: 50K - 9 hours; 13.2 - 5 hours; 50/50 - 9 hours strict. For the 50/50 Challenge, runners may opt to continue after finishing the 50K to attempt 50 miles, but they must complete the 50 miles within the 50K 9-hour cutoff. Failure to do so results in no credit for either distance. Successful finishers of the challenge receive a shirt and free entry to the following year.
Logistics, swag and entry policies
Organizers provide a participant handbook. All entrants receive a Flatrock race item. Complimentary race photos will be available. A Flatrock hoodie may be available for purchase. Awards go to the top three men and top three women in each race and include free entry to the next year. Refund policy: full entry credit until 7/1; half-entry credit available until 9/1.
