The Ironton Rail Trail connects nearly a dozen parks and two dozen historical sites in east-central Lehigh County. The trail includes a five-mile loop around Coplay and Hokendauqua and a four-mile spur toward Ironton, following the route of the former Ironton Railroad.
Event services include professional timing, a finish-line clock and results board, instant results and posting of times on the internet, and refreshments. Registrations before June 15 include a race T-shirt; additional short-sleeve T-shirts are available to other registrants while supplies last. One free raffle ticket is provided with the option to purchase more. The course is closed to traffic during the event. The event is held rain or shine; there are no refunds and shirts or awards will not be mailed.
Awards for the 5k are given to the top male and female overall and to the top three males and females in these age groups: 0-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-67, 68-74, and 75+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
